WE ARE SO EXCITED TO SHARE SOME DELICIOUS RECIPES OF A GREAT COMBINATION OF LEAN, CHOLESTEROL LOWERING BURGERS – OSTRICH, CHICKEN AND TURKEY MEATS FULL OF PROTEIN WITH HEALTHY BUNS FULL OF CARBOHYDRATES.

Turkey

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds 90-percent lean, freshly ground turkey (not all white meat), chilled

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

8 slices goat cheese, sliced 1/2-inch thick

4 sesame seed hamburger buns, split
and lightly grilled

1 teaspoon olive oil

Watercress, for serving

Slat and peper

Directions

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, grill until
cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
Add 1 slice of cheese. Put the burgers on the buns, drizzle with some lemon-honey mustard and top with a few sprigs of watercress. 

Serve with extra mustard on the side.

Ostrich

Ingredients

1 pound ground ostrich

2 tablespoons onion (finely chopped)

1 clove garlic (minced)

1 teaspoon ​olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until slightly brown. Allow to cool.

Combine with other ingredients and form into patties about 1 inch thick. Preheat grill. Place meat on hot grill and cook on each side for 5 to 6 minutes or until done an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Serve on buns with your favorite hamburger toppings.

Chicken

Ingredients

1 pound ground white meat chicken

2 cups coarse to fine fresh bread crumbs, 

1/2 cup low-fat milk

3 tablespoons grated sweet onion 

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

3/4 teaspoon coarse grained salt

1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions

Place chicken in a mixing bowl, add the milk, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, onion, cayenne, salt and pepper. If the mixture is still wet use thePlace remaining 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs until it get the right dry texture. Divide chicken meat into 4 or 5 piles and using your hands. Coat each patty with bread crumbs. Cooked through, until golden and about 5 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
